Run for Your Life…

Okay – I’m two days behind on my blog – where does the time go? I promised to talk about Personal Safety and Elements of Health. Then Chuck tapped me on the shoulder and said…”really”?

Life in Lo de Marcos

“You think people want to hear any of that”? Well the World is different today – and the “How to Run Your Life” book is still not available. We should be issued a current volume at birth. Like here you go, follow the instructions for the next 60-80 years…(if you’re lucky). I saw a graph that said….if the Earth were 100 people, and divided up based on race, religion, economics, longevity etc, only 8 out of 100 would be alive past 65. Or put another way 92% would be dead. So I’m pleased to announce I’m currently in the 8%.

I also heard once that “if you have health, you have hope, and if you have hope, you have everything.” Over the course of my life, I have been a silent observer, seeing those who had a semblance of health and those who did not. And what is health? The definition is “Good physical condition, state of health, being free from sickness or injury”.

But Chuck, isn’t there emotional health, mental health, physical health and spiritual health…are we not the caretaker of them all? And what about financial health Chuck? We have to manage that as well. Boy talk about a balancing act for living. Whew. Its just not as easy at “take this or that vitamin” and all will be well. We must take each slice of the Life Pie and have a taste. Take a look, see if its palatable. Like running your own diagnostics – which is what meditation is about – taking time to observe, reflect, look within. How’s everything working?

Enjoying Life

Chuck, you trained in Naturopathy. Healing with nature. Whats that look like? Hey thanks for asking. My take is…there are 10 Key Components to Healthy Living:

Air, Food, Sunshine, Water, Diet, Exercise, Nutrition, Avoiding Toxic People, Toxic Situations, Toxic Relationships.

AIR…breathing clean fresh air free of toxins and pollution

FOOD…eating a diet mainly composed of organic nuts/fruits/veggies

SUNSHINE…immersing yourself in healing sunshine

WATER…drinking adequate amounts of fresh filtered water

DIET…eat practicing the 8 hour rule. Allow the body to properly digest and repair and cleanse 16 hours daily. Eat in a 8 hour window. For example: Eat from 12:00 – 8:00pm. Fast the next 16 hours.

EXERCISE…practice some type of Yoga/Stretching 3x week – jogging or accelerated walking 3x week – and throw in some strength training with light weights to keep your joints strong.

NUTRITION…at minimum, supplement with Multi Vitamin/Multi Mineral, Vitamin D, Zinc, Probiotic, Whey or Collagen Protein, Fiber Supplement

TOXIC PEOPLE…avoid toxic people like the plague (no pun intended). Debbie and Donnie Downer are exactly that. They suck the life out of you. Let them slowly kill someone else.

TOXIC SITUATIONS…we’ve all been there….asking ourselves..”why did I come, why am I here”? If the situation is not enriching, enjoyable or encouraging, better to avoid it entirely.

TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS…this is a big one. Again if its not enriching your life, its draining your life. Better to say “Thank You” and move on.

Okay, thats enough for today Chuck. You’ve given me plenty to chew on. So whats the whole meaning of todays blog Chuck?

We are responsible for us. We are the Caretakers of our Temple. Make better choices, have a better experience. Be gentle with yourself. Quality not quantity. The time is now.

    1. Ah yes Mr. Ray – I’ve heard that “Life is Simple” and we’re the ones who complicate it. Think there might be some truth to that. Thanks for sharing.
