Sitting on the patio on a Sunday afternoon, observing the long Mexico holiday weekend at the beach, where tents have been pitched.
In the distance, not far up the beach, drummers are drumming. Calling forth the primordial ooze within us all. One can’t help but think about living life simplistically, which can mean different things to different folks. Like needs vs. wants and how easy it is to entrap ourselves with debt to obtain wants vs. needs. Then I recall the story of the Mexican fisherman playing his guitar under the palm tree.
The American tourist approached the fisherman and asked why he was resting under a Palm tree playing guitar instead of out catching more fish. The American explained to the fisherman that if he invested in two fishing boats, he could make twice the money. The fisherman asked “then what”? The American then explained about buying more boats, creating a company, making lots of money, being listed on the stock exchange, and running a fishing empire. The fisherman asked “then what”? The American said “then you could retire to Mexico and play your guitar under a Palm tree.”
KEEP IT SIMPLER
So the moral of this story is – less is more. Sometimes we chase our “wants” until we’re emotionally, mentally and physically exhausted. The key is learning to live within our means and having acceptance that we’re exactly where we’re supposed to be in life. There are no mistakes in the Universe. Be gentle with yourself, you’re all you’ve got.

I like this Yogi….thank you.
After chasing our tails most of our lives like some of us, it’s wonderful to be exactly where we’re supposed to be. You can’t buy peace…
Thanks Teresa….a good friend whose family operated a RV sales outlet for years – whispered in his Son’s ear one day as customers approached. He said, “Son, see those people walking in here?” Remember this he said “they’re out here trying to buy happiness…and its never been for sale.” Love you more Yogi
Good stuff, Yogi!
